Job Description



The PCE BOP Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of Blowout Preventer (BOP) systems and other pressure control equipment used in drilling operations. This role ensures the reliable and safe operation of BOP equipment to prevent blowouts and other well control incidents.

Essential functions



-

Installation & Commissioning:


Install and commission new BOP systems and associated pressure control equipment at drilling sites. Ensure all installations are performed according to company standards and safety regulations.-

Maintenance & Repair:


Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on BOP systems and pressure control equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions.-

Inspection & Testing:


Conduct regular inspections and testing of BOP systems to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Document and report findings from inspections and testing.-

Safety & Compliance:


Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working with pressure control equipment. Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with company policies and industry regulations.-

Technical Support:


Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel and other team members on BOP systems. Assist in the training of junior technicians and operators on BOP maintenance and operations.-

Documentation & Reporting:


Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment performance. Prepare and submit reports on equipment status and any issues encountered.-

Emergency Response:


Respond to emergency situations involving BOP systems and pressure control equipment. Implement corrective actions to address and mitigate any equipment failures or incidents.

Qualifications



Qualifications & Experience:



Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in mechanical or hydraulic systems is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with BOP systems or pressure control equipment in the oil and gas industry. Skills:+ In-depth knowledge of BOP systems, pressure control equipment, and well control procedures.
+ Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
+ Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in the oil and gas industry.

Certifications:



Pressure Control Certification: Relevant certifications in pressure control equipment or BOP systems. Welding Certification: If required for specific tasks or repairs. First Aid/CPR Certification: Demonstrates preparedness for emergency situations.
