Job Description

Position Summary:
The Boat Rental Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of boat rental services, including reservations, customer relations, and ensuring a seamless experience for clients. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for boating and hospitality.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Customer Service & Relations:
  • Assist customers in selecting the right boat for their needs and preferences.
  • Handle inquiries via phone, email, or in person regarding boat availability, pricing, and services.
  • Provide detailed explanations of rental terms, safety procedures, and area navigation guidelines.
Reservations & Scheduling:
  • Manage boat rental reservations, cancellations, and schedule adjustments using the booking system.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers about their rental details and requirements.
Boat Maintenance & Inspection:
  • Conduct pre- and post-rental inspections to ensure boats are clean, operational, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and regular servicing of the fleet.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure customers meet the requirements for renting (e.g., boating licenses, age restrictions).
  • Provide safety briefings, equipment demonstrations, and instructions for using life vests and other safety gear.
  • Maintain compliance with local marine laws and regulations.
Payment & Reporting:
  • Process rental payments, deposits, and refunds.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and prepare reports for management.
Marketing & Promotion:
  • Promote boat rental services through social media, events, and partnerships with local tourism agencies.
  • Upsell additional services such as guided tours, fishing gear, or catering.
Problem Resolution:
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, emergencies, or on-water issues promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate with rescue or emergency services in case of accidents or breakdowns.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or Marine Studies is a plus.
  • Proven experience in customer service or the hospitality industry, preferably in boat rentals or marine services.
  • Knowledge of boating, navigation, and marine safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in using booking systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
