Your Opportunity
The Bids & Proposals Writer is responsible for creating, structuring and refining high-quality written content for bid and proposal submissions. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that all bids and tenders are clear, compelling and fully aligned with client requirements and company objectives. The Bid Writer collaborates closely with Bid Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to develop engaging and persuasive responses that maximize the company’s chances of winning new business.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to multi-task and prioritise particularly in a pressured environment and is a self-motivated and self-disciplined, proactive team player.
The role will be predominantly based out of our Dubai HQ with prospects of regional travel to support related projects, bids and opportunities.
Key Accountabilities
- To provide bid writing services to bids of various scale and complexity, across all of Serco Middle East business sectors.
- Write, edit and refine clear, concise and compelling bid responses that meet client requirements.
- Develop executive summaries, case studies and win themes that effectively showcase the company’s value proposition.
- Ensure all written content is consistent, engaging and aligned with the company’s tone, branding and messaging.
- Tailor responses to reflect client pain points, evaluation criteria, and procurement guidelines.
- Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members.
- To support the team with bid production including management of printing, graphics and design production and the final quality checking of bid submissions.
- Review / edit proposals to ensure they are grammatically correct, consistent and well-structured.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with tender requirements and internal governance policies.
- Ensure bids are free of errors, formatting issues and inconsistencies before final submission.
- Maintain and update a centralised bid content library, ensuring high-quality, reusable material is available for future bids.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to extract key information and translate technical, financial, and operational details into compelling narratives.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of written content with client specs and governance frameworks.
- Develop FAQs, templates and standard responses for common bid questions.
- Work with Serco’s operational Business Units to understand live contractual operations (in the field) and to translate data gathered into detailed, up-to-date and relevant case studies including relevant statistics, success stories and data to support future bidding activity.
Specific Requirements
- Ideally a degree holder in Human Resources/ administration or any related discipline.
- Excellent MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, Power Bi) – proficient in word processing, developing presentations, reports and compiling documents into standard formats.
- 1-2 years minimum experience in HR/Admin background
- Advanced MS Office skills is essential as well as presentation abilities and MS Power Point skills
- Strong analytical skills and MS Excel skills
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt preferred.
