Role : Associate Restructure Manager
Location : Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose:
Responsible to conduct the restructuring process (end-to-end) of distressed loans and ensure effective management of non-performing assets. Manage identified classified assets to minimize loss and maximize recoveries by adapting appropriate workout solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of the financial industry and exceptional problem-solving skills to devise and implement strategies to minimize risk and maximize recovery.
Key Accountabilities of the role
Conduct, monitor, and steer overall workout process until completion under restructuring, for relationships under the assigned large ticket portfolio.
- Develop/review strategy for each relationship under management and confer the same with the Head of Restructuring and/or Head of GSAM to ensure effective adherence to approved workout strategy.
- Produce credit proposals, analysis, and recommendations on the best way to manage distressed accounts through restructuring to maximize recovery.
- Attend all internal and external audit issues promptly to comply with Bank policies and Central Bank regulations.
- Ensure maintaining updated data for large ticket accounts under management, complete files including documentation, contracts, securities with respective credit/Legal/Sharia approvals are in place.
- Ensure clean housekeeping portfolio with no overdue and expired items.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external advisors, and creditors, to negotiate and finalize restructuring agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external parties involved in restructuring activities.
- Propose legal action wherever necessary and coordinate with internal and external legal counsel to identify the appropriate legal strategy and follow up on the legal proceedings for the cases in litigation within the assigned portfolio.
- Review preemptively the classification and provision level of the accounts under management and propose amendments wherever necessary in line with the Bank’s provisioning and IFRS9 policies and procedures.
- Provide input for improvement of systems, processes, and practices while considering best practices, and any changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.
- Report and update on the status of the assigned large ticket portfolio regularly to maintain quality and standards of the Bank.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in loan restructuring and recovery.
Key decisions having significant impact on the Bank’s &/or GSAM Department to be always referred to the Head of Restructuring and further on to the Head of GSAM.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration /Finance/Accounting or equivalent specialization.
- 8 years of working experience in banking/financial sector out of which 5 years should be in Special Assets/Restructuring and Workouts, debt advisory, M&A advisory.
