Job Description

AECOM are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to support the MEA region, the role will ideally be based in our office in Dubai office.  


The primary responsibilities of the role include:


  • Bid advice and project support – Provision of tax input to the business on project bids and contracts across the whole of MEA. 
  • Tax compliance - Liaise with the external advisers and the local finance teams to ensure that corporate and other business tax returns are filed on a correct and timely basis for all entities in MEA.
  • Tax audits – Manage the conduct of tax audits and any related litigation with tax authorities across MEA. Liaise with local advisers and lawyers and the US Corporate Centre to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Tax Reporting – Ensure that the tax provisions for the MEA entities are properly accurately and timely calculated and reported to the US Corporate Centre on a quarterly basis. Also responsible for dealing with provision questions from the US Corporate Centre and auditors.  
  • Legal entity rationalisation and restructuring – provide tax input on proposed restructurings and funding of MEA entities. Also drive entity rationalisations to reduce the number of entities and the related compliance costs. 
  • Planning and advisory – assist in ad hoc tax advisory and planning work for MEA

Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant or Tax professional
  • International Corporate Tax experience, and an appreciation of wider taxes, VAT, WHT etc
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Effective communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform technical tax research
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Industry experience with a multinational group, ideally US parented
  • Appreciation of difference between US GAAP and IFRS
  • Advanced knowledge of excel
