Job Description


AESG is seeking a passionate and driven Associate Director Mechanical, who is looking for an exciting new opportunity to work within AESG's award-winning Sustainable Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for engineering excellence and sustainability, with a willingness to work across multiple disciplines and industries to drive the market towards more sustainable development.


Reporting directly to the Department Director, the Associate Director - Mechanical will be responsible for leading and managing mechanical engineering projects. The successful candidate will form part of AESG's dynamic Sustainable Engineering department located in our Dubai headquarters. The role will include independent project management of complex design and construction projects, covering all aspects of mechanical engineering. Confidence in client management with a clear vision of how to develop and manage an MEPF engineering team is essential.


In addition, the candidate will be integral to driving the department's internal processes and workflows and support the department director in preparing and executing the business development plan.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, overseeing the delivery of projects from conception to completion.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Utilise the expertise in mechanical engineering to provide innovative solutions and drive projects towards successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
    

Essential Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Professional accreditation such as Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or membership of a recognised institution such as MCIBSE.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering design and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and building codes/regulations.
  • Experience working in the UAE/KSA region is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in client-facing roles, demonstrating exceptional communication skills.
  • Extensive experience as an MEP project manager, driving projects to successful completion.
  • Strong background in UAE/KSA project delivery, understanding local regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Revit, utilising its capabilities to enhance project efficiency and quality.
