The team adopts a methodical and collaborative approach with clients to jointly answer the key strategic questions they are faced with. Examples of the work you will be involved in include:
Working on economic development, international trade and investment projects Working with senior leaders at clients to help them develop their strategy – including defining the organisation’s purpose, outlining its strategic objectives, identifying key customer segments, planning to enter new geographies, building new go-to-market approaches, mapping the capabilities required for success, and tracking performance Supporting business development activities to win projects with potential clients Writing thought leadership and supporting internal team activities
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Associate Consultant with strong analytical capabilities to provide advisory and execution services to governments, economic development organizations, and private sector clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects that promote international trade, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and support economic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering exceptional client service through high quality work, research and analysis:
Research & Analysis: Conduct market research, economic analysis, and gather insights to support client projects and inform strategic recommendations. Problem Solving: Assist in problem-solving sessions, collaborating with team members to develop actionable solutions that address client challenges. Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, helping to present findings and support client interactions under the guidance of senior consultants. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear, concise presentations and reports that communicate insights, analysis, and recommendations effectively. Project Support: Provide project management support, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and align with client expectations.
Supporting the growth of OCO through customer focus and commercial awareness:
Develop working relationships with clients Develop a good knowledge and understanding of OCO’s services and how these may be applicable for different clients Participate in the development of client proposals
Improve your knowledge and skills through effective communication, planning and organisation:
Actively contributes during team sessions and other environments where problems and approaches are discussed Provide clear and concise progress updated on projects and deliver presentations internally and externally Prioritise work in line with key project deliverable and deliver results on or ahead of deadlines Develop contingency plans to account for changing priorities and deadlines
Supporting your colleagues by leading, working as part of a global team and being flexible:
Anticipate and adapt to changing requirements within a projects Consider problems from different perspectives and expand on suggested solutions Share information and knowledge with team to deliver projects successfully Lead on tasks assigned by senior members of the team with little guidance
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should have a degree from a recognized institution preferably in Economics, Business, Finance, Marketing or similar with strong academic performance (other disciplines will be considered where candidates can demonstrate core skills required). 1-2 years’ experience in a consulting role. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative analysis; familiarity with analytical tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau) is a plus. Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to approach complex problems with a structured and innovative mindset. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating flexibility, resilience, and a collaborative approach. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Relevant Experience: experience in consulting, economic development, trade, or investment is advantageous. Interest in Economic Development: Passion for economic development, foreign direct investment (FDI), and international trade. Growth Mindset: Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a dynamic consulting environment. Eligible to work in the UAE or Saudi Arabia Fluency in English and Arabic
