Job Description
Assist in Controlling Air Traffic
- Perform flight data tasks by using PRISMA in the form of individual flight plans, repetitive flight plans, estimates, revisions and co-ordination received from adjacent ANSP Units.
- Prepare and transmit locally originated message traffic to the required addresses. Receive and re-route/distribute incoming messages as appropriate.
- Monitor CADAS, ROBEX and take necessary action.
- Manage and operate PRISMA AWPCOM.
- Observe the traffic through the system, circuits and take any necessary action when faults occur.
- Occupy the position of DFLOW manager as and when required to ensure that the departure slots are allocated as generated by the system.
- Monitor Online Data Interchange window and coordinate with adjacent ANSP units accordingly.
Report Incidents
- Report failures, conditions, and procedures likely to constitute a risk to safety and/or regularity.
- Bring to the attention of the ATCOs any occurrence or coordination that will affect operations.
Support Development
- Participate on an ad hoc basis in simulation exercises and development of procedures and airspace restructuring.
- Participate on an ad hoc basis in configuration, testing and commissioning of new or upgraded ATC systems.
- Perform other duties related to ANS commensurate with position.
Maintain Proficiency
- Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant parts of ICAO Documents, UAE AIP and Local ATS Instructions (LATSI) for the UAE ACC.
- Maintain a thorough operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of Air Traffic Services in the UAE FIR.
- Complete periodic proficiency checking in both theoretical knowledge and practical performance at regular intervals as determined by the GCAA.
- Obtain, through pre-watch briefing, relevant information concerning conditions affecting the discharge of duties during the watch.
Develop Staff
- Perform on the job training (OJT) of trainee ATCAs.
- Complete progress reports on trainee ATCAs and discuss the contents with the trainees, other OJTIs and management.
Reporting
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.
Health, Safety and Environment within GCAA
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards
Other Tasks/ Accountability
- Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.
Knowledge and Experiences:
High School graduate with no previous experience.
