Job Description

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing all aspects of electrical systems for Transmission line from 33kV, 132kV to 400kV level projects, from construction to commissioning stage. Experiences in installation, testing, and commissioning of overhead power transmission and distribution lines to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents related to the substation.
  • Supervise the construction activities and ensure that all electrical works, including transmission line routing, tower erection, and conductor stringing, comply with national and international codes (such as IEC, IEEE, or local regulations).
  • Track project milestones, assess work progress, and prepare detailed reports on construction activities, delays, and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections, material checks, and audits to verify that construction quality meets contractual obligations and safety standards.
  • Address technical issues and resolve challenges encountered during the construction and operation phases of projects. 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team members, subcontractors, and clients as needed. 
  • Prepare comprehensive progress reports, documentation, and as-built drawings for client review and approval. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to electrical engineering, and substations.
  • Ability to plan, monitor, and control project execution for overhead line construction 
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing Transmission line projects (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC, IEC). 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in quality control and assurance for electrical works
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices to ensure a safe worksite
