Job Description
GEMS Winchester School, Dubai, is looking to hire an Assistant Head Teacher for EYFS for AY 2025-2026, who will be responsible for supporting the leadership and management of the Early Years department. This role involves ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for young learners, managing staff, and fostering an environment that supports the personal and academic development of the children.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support to EYFS teachers and staff, including training and mentoring Support the development of a positive learning environment that is safe and nurturing. Monitor the day-to-day operations of the EYFS phase and ensure a high standard of teaching and care Ensure that the EYFS curriculum is being delivered effectively and aligns with school standards Support teachers in planning and implementing creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate lessons Lead and coordinate the assessment of students development in accordance with EYFS guidelines Assist in the recruitment and induction of new EYFS staff Promote continuous professional development for all staff in the EYFS phase Provide feedback and evaluation to ensure high teaching standards are maintained
Skills
Skills Required:
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team. Deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and child development. Excellent communication skills, both with staff and parents. Ability to inspire and engage young learners. Compassion and empathy towards young children’s needs. Ability to assess and support children’s learning and development. High standards of personal and professional integrity.
Education
B.Ed or subject related degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
