The Role
We're seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our Legal, Risk and Compliance Department in the Middle East. This dynamic role combines ethics and compliance oversight with claims and litigation management, supporting our commitment to our core values: We do things right. We challenge the accepted. Key Responsibilities
Ethics & Compliance: Provide strategic advice on complex compliance issues across the Middle East region and global operations Support and strengthen compliance programs within Middle East operations Lead internal investigations Deliver guidance on ethics and compliance laws across U.S., U.K., and Middle East jurisdictions
Claims & Litigation:
Manage complex claims, litigation, and outside counsel Collaborate with senior management on litigation risk management Handle high-stakes lawsuits with strategic problem-solving approach Interface with finance leaders and insurance carriers
Required Qualifications
Law degree from an accredited institution with an active license to practice Arabic speaking capabilities 7+ years of legal experience in either:+ Ethics and compliance, government investigations, or white-collar criminal defense
+ Litigation management
Proven track record in compliance strategy implementation or commercial claims management Experience handling complex litigation and professional liability matters Strong knowledge of construction law and insurance-related issues Ability to travel as needed

Additional Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Middle East anti-corruption laws, the FCPA, UK Bribery Act, and other global anti-corruption laws Understanding of sanctions and export control laws Trial and/or arbitration experience Experience with global arbitration forums Background in joint venture or consortium litigation
Location & Reporting:
Based in Middle East (Dubai preferred) - Local position, not an expatriate role Reports to VP, Deputy General Counsel, Global Ethics and Compliance (primary) and VP, Deputy General Counsel, Global Litigation (secondary)
