The Assistant Engineering Manager plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of hotel facilities. This position supports the Engineering Manager in overseeing all aspects of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards. The role also involves coordinating with contractors, managing engineering staff, and optimizing preventive maintenance programs to enhance hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
Assist in managing daily engineering operations, including maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of engineering and maintenance staff.
Ensure that all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety, function efficiently.
Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor energy consumption and suggest energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repair and maintenance services.
Maintain proper documentation of maintenance schedules, equipment manuals, and service records.
Assist in budget planning and cost control for the engineering department.
Support hotel expansion, renovation, and construction projects as needed.
Train and mentor engineering team members to enhance skills and efficiency.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of hotel building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and building management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
