We’re seeking an Area Manager to join our dynamic Fulfillment Center. The Change Area Manager leads, supports, coordinates and facilitates implementation of new and improved structures, processes and activities, and day to day standard work compliance. Working closely with FC & AMET ops, support, and program mangers teams, you report directly to the Country Change Manager.
For this role you will need to be adaptable, challenge motivated and thrive on implementing high standard productivity and simplicity using Kaizen/PDCA methods. Curiosity and the confidence to take calculated risks quickly are core characteristics for Continuous Improvements Managers.
Key job responsibilities
The ability to create and follow data driven arguments to ascertain root cause, then implement Amazon standard or innovate to develop a solve. Agility to react to countermeasures and a bias for action to implement change. Understanding of Kaizen, PDCA and six sigma processes would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Fulfilment Centre improvement plan to focus on best customer experience at the lowest cost
- Develop a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking
- Contribute to and facilitate Kaizen activities
- Help drive the implementation of Lean Standard Work
- Train and support all levels in Kaizen activities
- Disseminate Lean Standard Work principles across teams
- Support and manage the Fulfilment Centre implementation Agenda
- Take ownership for the LSC (Leadership Steering Committee)
- Coordinate and prioritize LSC process improvement activities and resources
- Lead daily GEMBA/GOT activities, going to the source of the problem, working with tenacity to rapidly solve associate identified barriers
- Standardize processes to Amazon and ECCF benchmark standards
- Liaise between OPS, CI, and support teams across the FC for process excellence
- Maintain strong relationships with AMET/ECCF Process Owners and FC Process Engineer
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- You hold a degree in logistics, business administration, or in a related field, or you have an equivalent qualification
- A strong team player, you thrive when working with others
- You’re a natural at motivating others around you
- You demonstrate problem-solving and analytical capabilities: conducting and driving Dive Deep analysis on complex processes isn’t a problem for you
- You’re a quick thinker, able to act decisively in a fast-paced environment
- You’re willing and able to work to flexible schedules and shifts: you always commit the time required to get the job done.
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
- • Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain is a plus.
- • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
- • Adapt at analytical work and the ability to motivate others in a deadline-driven environment
- • Basic understanding of Lean and Six Sigma.
