Architectural Design Manager

The Architectural Design Manager will lead and oversee the architectural design efforts at the company’s engineering office. This role involves managing a team of architects and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative design solutions for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, project management, and team leadership, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within scope, and in adherence to company standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:

   
   
   • Lead architectural design projects from conceptualization to completion.
   • Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
   • Monitor and ensure the timely and successful completion of design phases, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.

2. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

   
   
   • Manage and mentor a team of architects, designers, and technical staff.
   • Foster a collaborative environment to encourage innovative design solutions and professional growth within the team.
   • Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering, construction, and project management, to ensure integrated project delivery.

3. Design Excellence:

   
   
   • Oversee the development of architectural designs, ensuring they meet the company's high standards for quality, creativity, and functionality.
   • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and best practices in architectural design.
   • Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.

4. Client Engagement:

   
   
   • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their needs and expectations.
   • Present design concepts, proposals, and progress updates to clients, addressing feedback and incorporating necessary changes.

5. Quality Control and Compliance:

   
   
   • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
   • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.

6. Innovation and Sustainability:

   
   
   • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in architectural design, materials, and technologies.
   • Promote sustainable and innovative design solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients and the community.

7. Budget and Resource Management:

   
   
   • Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective design solutions.
   • Allocate team resources effectively to meet project deadlines and client expectations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or a related field.
• Professional certification in architecture (e.g., RIBA, AIA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of architectural projects, preferably including commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
• Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team of architects and designers.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
• Demonstrated experience in sustainable design practices and an understanding of current trends in architecture.
