1. Maintain and keep up to date a complete log of all marine and project activities performed by the barge. 2. Responsible for maintaining a constant watch on the barge surroundings for approaching vessels. 3. Responsible for coordinating the movement of vessels in the vicinity of the barge. 4. Responsible for maintaining a constant watch on the barge position and mooring system, and report any irregularities to the anchor foreman. 5. Direct the vessel to their respective anchor positions making use of information from anchor patterns, field charts, GPS and other information given by surveyors and field operator 6. Monitor and report position of barge during the positioning of anchors 7. Operate the barge anchor winches as directed by the anchor foreman, while maintaining constant watch and providing feedback about barge position and wire tensions. 8. Operate the barge anchor wires during pipe lay activities in a manner that will maintain the required heading of the barge. 9. Assist in plotting anchor positions in accordance with the approved anchor pattern or without it when anchor pattern is not available. 10. Assist in the deck activities whenever there is no anchor running activities.
Skills Required
• High school or equivalent.
• 3 years’ experience as Anchor Operator.
• Good English language skills, spoken and written.
• Good Communication skills.
• Familiarity with all required offshore safety training.
