ABOUT THE JOB
The Analyst, Commercial Planning position within the Optimization Department plays a crucial role in analyzing and optimizing commercial strategies to enhance profitability and efficiency within Supply Chain Management Division. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams between AR and its affiliates such as DMT, AT, & AGT to develop and implement strategic plans, utilizing data analysis and market insights to inform decision-making processes. Ensures development of weekly production plans in line with monthly operating plans, accordingly, develops 13-week supply plans and responsible for feedstock and product commitments in line with contractual obligations
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Production Optimization:
- Responsible for cargo placements and date range finalization and coordinates with concerned marketing functions and site scheduling, logistics teams and senior specialist production optimization in this regard.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to develop and refine 13week Supply plan, in line with optimized production plans and lifting schedules of export and domestic markets
- Develop rolling 13 weeks Plan models and forecasts to support decision-making processes related to sales, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
- Follow up with the Refined Products Supply team on the execution of the 13 weeks Plan
- Coordinating with the concerned in the event of unplanned outages to ensure required adjustment in lifting schedules.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of commercial deal recaps, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support the contract negotiations and customer relationship management efforts.
- Keeping the information flow as per contractual obligations and keep track on contractual commitments, actual deliveries, and variance there off.
- Manages and monitors inventories at optimal levels through engagements with Production Planning, Scheduling & Trading teams.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings, recommendations, and performance metrics to key stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting the refining business, providing proactive insights to the Production Optimization team.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required to support business objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Act as Optimisation Sub-Committee (OSC) Secretary (if required), ensuring alignment with all stakeholders
Documentation and Reports
- Ensure preparation of required reports on historical supply and demand data
- Ensures preparation of required reports on future supply and lifting plans
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSMinimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics or equivalent
Minimum Experience & Knowledge
- 6 years of experience preferably in the oil, gas, or petrochemical plants.
Skills:
- Business Analysis
- Through understanding of refinery operations, planning, and scheduling activities
- Optimization modelling using spread sheets and/or linear programming models.
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in verbal and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
