About the Job
The incubation analysts play a vital role in evaluating new business investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, performing financial analysis and providing insights for informed decision-making in business investments and funding. The role includes market analysis, valuation and return analysis and due diligence on new emerging technologies and opportunities in the energy, sustainability, real estate, vehicle services and technology sectors.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Market Research, Data acquisition & Analysis’s • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
• Research, Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets.
• Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.
• Identify and communicate data-driven insights that allow managers, stakeholders, and other executives in an organization to make more informed decisions.
• Reporting the results back to the relevant members of the business.
• Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analyst if necessary.
• Processing confidential data and information according to guidelines.
• Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
• Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements. Supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
Financial Modelling and Research
• Develop financial models, valuation analysis and assumptions in order to facilitate accurate assessment of economic performance as per set international standards in order to support management decision making on investment initiatives business development opportunities.
• Perform initial research on identified investment initiatives and prepare financial models as per standard processes/agreed methodology, under the guidance of the Manager in order to facilitate accurate evaluation of economic performance/risk assessment.
• Assist Incubation Manager in the development of capital / operating budgets for the new business development opportunities in line with the business plan to support effective achievement of business requirements.
• Conduct due diligence and feasibility studies on the assigned business opportunities to support informed management decision making.
• Scan the business environment for new business ideas / opportunities and together with the analysts, research these further in order to assess their viability.
• Assist in the process of developing the market for a new project in relevant segments of the economy.
• Prepare project presentations / proposals as requested by senior management, considering all aspects of the project to facilitate effective negotiations.
Market Intelligence
• Keep abreast of new regulations/ policies that may affect the investments and proactively carry out research in to prevailing market trends / strategies and strengthen market intelligence of team in order to facilitate management decision-making in determining market opportunities and development metrics.
• Partnership with startups, venture capital funds and other alternative funding entities for origination of new opportunities.
Process Management
• Develop / standardise processes, models as directed by Manager, to be utilised for all financial modelling/analysis activities and support the establishment of a uniform process.
• Analyse / assess the information gathered for consistency and accuracy and forward the same to the relevant authority.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and or Economics/.
• Full or Progress towards CFA, CAIA, and or CA certification is preferred.
• 4 to 6 of experience in Market research, Investment Analysis, of which at least 3 years in a similar investment or development environment.
• Financial modelling, Asset Valuations, Statistical Analysis, Investment Analysis
• Knowledge of workflow/process mapping.
• Analytical skills
• Excellent communications and inter-personal relations skills

• Computer proficiency – MS Word, MS PowerPoint, PDF
• CFA, (Pass CFA Level 1), CAIA, and or CA (Chartered Accountant) certification is preferred.
