Eligibility for Qasimi Foundation Internship



The research internship is open to current undergraduate or graduate students from all around the world, studying at an accredited university. Recent graduates (within the last two years) are also eligible to apply for the Al Qasimi Internship Program. Moreover, for those whose primary language is not English, a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 85 or an IELTS score of 6.5 is a requirement. However, IELTS is not required if English is the first language. All applicants must show a genuine interest in Ras Al Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates and the broader Gulf region. Similarly, applicants should have their degrees or coursework related to the Foundation’s focus areas, such as public health, education, economic development, urban planning and development, food access and public policy. Interns with expertise in fields like multimedia, public relations, or translation may also be considered, depending on the Foundation’s specific project needs.

United Arab Emirates NGO The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research was established in 2009 to aid in the social, cultural, and economic development of Ras Al Khaimah, a northern emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Established through Emiri decree by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the Foundation is considered a non-profit, quasi-governmental organization. The Al Qasimi Foundation seeks to generate a world-class body of research on Ras Al Khaimah and the broader UAE, develop local capacity in the public sector, and engage the community in its work. Initially focused on education, the Foundation has expanded its priority areas to include health and wellness, urban and community development, and arts and culture. Signature initiatives include competitive international research grants, teacher and student professional development programs, and the annual Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival.
