Adjunct Faculty 


The School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS) at Heriot-Watt University Dubai and the Executive Education Department Dubai invite applications for Adjunct Faculty positions for the delivery of executive education programs in Real Estate and Construction to both corporate clients and the Government. Programs will be predominantly delivered within the UAE, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other global locations subject to requirement. With the exponential growth in real estate and construction projects, the UAE and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are increasingly making a significant impact on the global stage.  


Please note, there may not be openings at this particular time, however, applications will be kept on file and reviewed as the need to deliver executive education training arises.

Roles & Responsibilities for our Adjuncts may include: 


  • Undertaking teaching and assessment duties on professional training programmes to deliver executive education to corporate clients and the Government.  Support colleagues in the delivery of courses and other activities to support the delivery of the university’s aims. 
  • Support The School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society in developing relevant materials in appropriate formats. Contribute to the content, design and delivery and the quality of teaching and learning, in consultation with colleagues and within the international structures and mechanisms established by the University.   
  • Mentor and supervise programme participants, providing effective, well documented and timely feedback, both formative and summative. Provide pastoral support, recognising when to refer a student for further support. Play a key role in the delivery and support of an excellent participant learning and overall client experience.  
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues at our Dubai campus as well as at our UK & other campuses where applicable, and with external networks both for the exchange of information, to share learning, and to form relationships for future collaboration.   
  • The typical time commitment includes contact hours within the classroom, preparation time, assessment & feedback time.  

Essential Qualifications: 


  • RICS Certification (or other industry professional accreditations) or PhD/master's degree in real estate and construction 
  • Minimum of 5-10 years industry experience in the Middle East 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the executive education market 
  • Proven ability to teach Executive Education programmes for junior, mid or/and senior levels corporate clients 
  • Ability to travel to the UAE and Saudi Arabia to deliver the training  
  • Experience in delivering to Senior Management and C-suite executives  
  • Experience in development a curriculum and materials, and successfully executing the delivery as well as the techniques to assess participants performance and provide feedback 
  • Ability to collaborate throughout proposal stage with the Head of Executive Education, Head of School if and when required 
  • Ability to teach Postgraduate programmes is desired  
  • Excellent Communication skills: programmes are delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential 

Other requirements: 


Applicants working in the UAE must possess a valid visa and must provide a NO-Objection-Certificate (NOC) from the visa sponsor. UAE Nationals & Golden visa holders do not need to provide a NOC. Right to work documentation required from candidates will include.
