About the job Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing accounts specifically within educational institutions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reports.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Handle budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the institution.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely submission.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Collaborate with department heads to manage and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard the institutions assets.
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations and standards related to the education sector.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting within educational institutions.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance specific to the education sector.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
