Accountant

Context of the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the accuracy of all financial transactions within the organization, ensuring that they are in accordance with IFRS accounting standards, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This role provides a valuable opportunity to develop accounting skills, gain hands-on experience, and advance within the company.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Conduct and oversee financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage and reconcile accounts, ledgers, and financial databases.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Utilize accounting software to maintain accurate financial records.
• Participate in financial data analysis and financial reporting to support management decision-making.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal controls.
• Review treasury and cash needs for all payment requests

Qualifications

• 4+ years relevant work experience in accounting or finance departments 
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Each day we process approximately 21M loan requests and 1.4 TB of data across our markets. This process needs to be robust, reliable and secure.
