Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include overseeing the HVAC team, supporting them in their work of installation and maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units and associated air handling chilled water distribution, and environmental control systems. Daily timetabling, part ordering, work assignment and safety awareness. Incumbent plans individual jobs and long-term work operations, develops a preventive maintenance program with the assistance of Asset/Activity Management Planners, and controls the quality of work. Resolve most problems exercising discretionary judgement and analysis even in the most complex situations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Reviews all work tasks and assigns personnel to jobs.
- Prepare, update, and maintain a variety of data forms, records, and reports.
- Supervises major overhaul or installation of HVAC systems to make sure that work is carried out according to plans.
- Mentor technicians, providing guidance on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and procedures.
- Conducts quality checks of works in progress or upon completion.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, standards, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems.
- Manages inventory of HVAC equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled projects and repairs. Orders materials as needed.
- Oversees repair and replacement of faulty elements of all type of HVAC equipment to include complex Building Automation systems.
- Attends to project inspections and acceptances, and various staff meetings.
- Informs and trains team in the proper use of tools, personnel protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper work procedures.
- Keeps records of work tasks, expenditures, tools, and equipment inventory.
- Coordinates work with other shops as required.
- Provides technical assistance to mechanics when requested.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required to meet the needs of the Civil Engineering department.
- Comply with local and US electrical safety codes, standards, regulations, practices, and environmental laws.
- Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematic wiring diagrams, manufactures’ literature, and standard operating procedures.
- Use test equipment to trouble shoot basic AC/DC Theory, 1-phase/3-phase power, system protection, and electronic/electrical equipment.
- Use desktop and mobile devices to access Building Automation systems to perform equipment monitoring functions.
- Prioritize multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
- Physical requirements include being able to lift 23 kilos, climbing ladders, extended sitting or standing, and working in normal and adverse weather conditions due to work requirements.
- Lead, direct, motivate, inspire, encourage work in a positive manner and provide input for performance evaluations.
- Work uncommon/flexible duty hours (shifts, weekends and holidays).
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish Citizen
- Technical High School graduate/completed, department of HVAC/Refrigeration or two-year college degree in HVAC (İklimlendirme, Soğutma Yüksekokulu).
- Must be capable of writing, listening, and reading English at a minimum of level 2.
- Must be capable of completing basic HVAC/Refrigeration courses in English.
- Must be capable of obtaining a Turkish security clearance
- Must possess a valid driver license (minimum “B” class).
- Military obligation must be completed
- Must have at least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Must have strong technical knowledge of HVAC units and software, Building Automation systems, and diagnostics/analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
