Take responsibility for various IT systems (server, storage, backup, virtualization, etc.) in a multiskilled approach.
Design, install, configure, test, and maintain IT systems and system management tools.
Manage and monitor installed systems.
Proactively ensure the highest level of service availability in a 24/7 production environment.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
Maintain a proactive view on capacity and performance of IT systems.
Conduct regular performance analysis to identify and mitigate performance flaws.
Enable automation.
Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Develop and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Train 1st level support teams.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Maintain operational, configurational, and other procedures.
Maintain topology, inventory, and service specification documents.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Provide consultancy and input to solution design, pre-sales, service delivery.
Communicate technical and non-technical information to technical support groups, customer support centers and end-users as required.
Job Requirements:
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in System Administrator/Engineer positions.
Bachelor’s degree in computer, Electrics/Electronics Engineering or related departments.
Very good command of English.
One or more items of the following technical skill sets are required in line with the ITIL methodology:
Experience with Microsoft Windows NT based operating systems design, implementation, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
Experience with Linux based operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Oracle Linux, CentOS) design, implementation, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting in an enterprise environment.
Experience with industry standard servers and blade systems architectures (e.g., Dell, Lenovo, HPE, etc.).
Experience with hyperconverged infrastructures (e.g., Nutanix, Dell, Cisco, HPE, etc.).
Experience with storage (SAN/NAS) systems (e.g., DellEMC, NetApp, HPE, etc.).
Experience with backup systems (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication, DellEMC Networker, etc.).
Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Networking Services.
Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server.
Experience with FortiMail, Sendmail, Postfix, Zimbra, BIND, Squid, Apache.
Experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Applications Manager, etc.).
Solid scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript, WSH, shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python).
