Site Manager (m/f/d)
We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Site Manager to oversee the construction, testing, and commissioning of utility-scale solar projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the site team from mobilization through project completion, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget. Depending on the project, presence at a different location may be necessary.
- Lead the site team from mobilization through project implementation and handover
- Ensure compliance and coordination of personnel to HSE policies
- Review monthly manhours and safety metrics to ensure compliance with safety goals
- Manage, support, monitor, and develop site specific QA/QC programs
- Manage, support, monitor, and develop site specific Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP)
- Monitor progress and verify adherence to project quality and industry standards by using ITP and Tracker template documents
- Coordinate with project teams on site issues and permitting
- Administer Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts
- Review project schedules and coordinate site logistics
- Plan and execute daily POD, weekly and monthly project meetings
- Prepare project status reports
- Monitor project construction and milestones schedule and confirm with contractors to ensure the project is built in conformance with the plans and specifications
- Monitor Contractors and confirm that the project is built in accordance with the EPC agreement specifications and scopes
- Monitor site team to ensure the project is built in accordance with all environmental and compliance mitigation measures
- Work with Subcontractors, local utilities for power interconnection requirements
- Manage the SCADA hardware installation and documents control
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and startup activities
- 5-10 years relevant industry experience as a Site Manager
- Strong commitment to maintain a safe site working environment
- Clear understanding of permitting and regulatory issues
- Ability to work efficiently with the construction team from construction through commissioning and commercial operation
- Capability to document and report project progress accurately
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in additional languages is an asset
- Willingness to travel internationally and work on-site for extended periods
- Computer proficiency including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications
- Highly motivated teams in a national and international environment, with exciting and varied tasks around regional projects
