The Senior Planning Specialist is responsible for overseeing the production planning process, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, and optimizing resource utilization for maximum efficiency and productivity. This role plays a critical part in developing and supporting end-to-end planning strategies, contributing to the overall success and growth of the business. By integrating best practices, forecasting demand, and collaborating cross-functionally, the Senior Planning Specialist ensures seamless production processes and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to optimize manufacturing operations, balancing capacity, material availability, and customer demand. Oversee both short-term and long-term planning while ensuring timely order fulfillment and resource allocation.


  • Inventory & Resource Management: Collaborate with procurement and inventory control teams to maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing excess inventory while preventing shortages. Analyze production data to anticipate bottlenecks and drive efficiency improvements.


  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Demand Forecasting: Partner with sales, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to align production with business objectives. Leverage forecasting tools to predict demand fluctuations and implement proactive planning strategies.


  • Process Optimization & KPI Monitoring: Track key performance indicators such as lead times, inventory turnover, and production efficiency. Identify opportunities for process enhancements through lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred), with at least 7-8 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment.


  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SAP planning modules, MRP systems, and demand forecasting. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.


  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Proven ability to manage complex planning scenarios, analyze production data, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.


  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate across departments and engage with stakeholders at various levels in English and in Turkish. Strong ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
