The Position
As Senior Manager, SCD Commercial Strategy you will be pivotal in cultivating strong internal and external relationships to advance patient care and positioning Novo Nordisk as a pioneer in the SCD therapy area through a comprehensive understanding of clinical care pathways, treatment landscapes, and strategic collaborations, in accordance with business ethics and compliance.


Your key responsibilities will be to:


  • Drive Marketing Understanding: Map commercial opportunities and develop, implement, and execute SCD business development projects and tactics in line with Novo Nordisk’s SCD strategy, while upholding business ethics and compliance.
  • Landscape Mapping: Prepare and deliver a comprehensive mapping of the SCD landscape in Africa, including disease burden, clinical care pathways, treatment landscape, and business potential. Proactively scan the competitive and customer landscape to identify trends and develop initiatives aligned with these trends. 
  • Project Management and Resource Management: Develop detailed project plans, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure timely and on-budget delivery of key projects in collaboration with affiliates and the region. Define and manage SCD business development project needs and budget, including internal resource sourcing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain close communication with external and internal stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions. Build systematic and strategic collaborations to ensure flawless project execution. 
  • Active Participation: Attend key internal and external SCD forums, business-related meetings, congresses, and symposiums. Ensure strong participation and preparation for key activities and business development initiatives driven by Novo Nordisk Business Area Africa.

Qualifications


  • You should have a bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or Economics, with prior experience in business development roles and have at least 5 years of proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or senior business development & project management functions.
  • You have excellent command of written and spoken English, strong patient-centric approach, business acumen, commercial mindset, and project management capabilities.
  • You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet business deadlines. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, time management, analytical capabilities, and a proactive mindset.
  • You have the ability to assume ownership of initiatives with minimal supervision and consistently deliver outstanding results.
