Job Description:

At Analog Devices Automotive Cabin Experience Istanbul Design Center, you will be able to work together with a global team, who has designed and introduced many successful products that won sockets from top car makers in Europe, Asia and the USA. We, as GMSL SerDes group, are developing integrated circuits for automotive and high-speed serial data communications for next generation safety and infotainment systems and autonomous vehicles.

As a design evaluation engineer, you will be part of the design team, and have opportunity to work with digital design, analog design, as well as application engineering and test engineering teams to validate and characterize complex mixed-signal integrated circuits developed in GMSL SerDes group.

This hands-on job is a unique opportunity for someone who is willing to have a top-level understanding of complex integrated circuits and to work in collaboration with various teams within GMSL group. You will play a key role in debugging the parts, finding bugs on bench and characterization.

Main responsibilities:

• Functional bench evaluation of IC prototypes designed in GMSL SerDes group. Trying to find any functional limitations and performance bottlenecks by extensive and detailed bench tests.
• Implementing test and measurement automation scripts with Python to fasten and improve measurements.
• Creating/managing bench test plans by understanding the design and working with design engineers.
• Working with design engineers to improve the design by implementing test methods and providing high quality measurement data.
• Performance characterization of IC prototypes designed in GMSL SerDes group over operating corners.
• Working with PCB team to design characterization PCBs to be used on bench. Guide PCB layout team.
• Working with test engineers to correlate their measurements on the bench to verify their automatic test system setups.
• Additional responsibilities are answering customer & apps questions from time to time and managing lab test and measurement equipment.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• BSEE or MSEE with specialization in IC/Hardware testing/characterization or IC/Hardware Design.
• At least 5 years of experience is preferred in one or more of the Characterization, Test, Hardware Design or Application Engineering areas.
• Hands-on knowledge on high speed mixed-signal lab test/measurement/characterization equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, pattern/function generators, logic analyzers, BERT.
• Experience in high-speed IC, hardware or embedded system testing.
• Experience in lab automation tools.
• Preferably, experience in high-speed hardware and PCB, FPGA design.
• Experience in supporting/solving customer questions/issues/system design problems is a plus.
• Experience in Python is a plus.
• Good communication skills, good data presentation skills.
