Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Accounting and Finance Specialist to join the NSC Turkey Finance team under Eurofins Scientific. This position will actively participate in general accounting, fixed assets, payroll, revenue recognition, tax, and treasury processes. The position will work in compliance with both local regulations and Eurofins' global accounting principles, providing services to group companies within the NSC (National Service Center.)
This role offers a hybrid working model, combining remote and office-based work.
General Accounting:
- Prepare daily accounting entries in accordance with legal regulations and Eurofins group accounting policies.
- Manage monthly closing processes and prepare financial reports.
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and periodic reports.
- Fixed asset management: CAPEX/OPEX accounting, depreciation calculations, inventory tracking.
- Support local statutory reporting and contribute to audit processes.
- Track bank transactions, foreign exchange, and cash flow.
- Assist in the preparation of tax declarations (VAT, withholding tax, corporate tax, etc.).
- Perform general accounting account reconciliations.
Revenue Recognition:
- Recognize revenues in accordance with IFRS.
- Review customer contracts to apply the correct revenue recognition methodology.
Payroll Accounting:
- Prepare monthly accounting entries related to employee salaries and benefits.
- Coordinate with the HR department to ensure payroll processes are conducted in legal compliance.
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Enter supplier invoices into the system and track payment processes.
- Perform supplier reconciliations and close outstanding accounts.
- Review employee expense forms and manage the payment process.
- Perform AP aging analysis.
- Maintain solution-oriented communication with suppliers.
Treasury and Cash Management:
- Prepare cash flow projections for group companies.
- Communicate funding requests and carry out payment transactions.
- Contribute to improving net working capital processes.
Tax and Compliance Processes:
- Calculate taxes and prepare tax declarations.
- Coordinate with independent auditors and tax consultants.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in internal and external audit processes.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team in budget vs. actual analysis and monitoring processes.
- Participate in process standardization and automation projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 7-9 years of experience in general accounting and AP processes.
- Knowledge of Turkish Tax Law and IFRS.
- Experience in an audit firm is preferred.
- Preferably experienced with the Mikro accounting system.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Advanced level of English (both written and spoken).
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Dynamic, adaptable to change, and team-oriented.
- Holding an CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
