Our client is a financial consulting firm that focuses on helping social entrepreneurs grow their businesses. They're a values-driven company and are looking to make the world a better place through the companies we work with. We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's growing team.
This role is client-facing with numerous opportunities to grow within the firm as well as provide meaningful insights and value to our clients. The position is a hybrid of accounting, finance, and tax.
Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 6 PM EST
Key Responsibilities:
● Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
● Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and adherence to relevant accounting standards.
● Work on multiple client accounts simultaneously, manage client expectations and interact with clients directly to get the needed information.
● Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
● Ensure proper coding and classification of transactions.
● Monitor key financial metrics and provide variance analysis.
● Continuously evaluate and streamline accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
● Identify opportunities for automation and implement best practices.
● Update management reporting schedules around key financial metrics.
● Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals as needed.
● Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA equivalent certification required
● Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience
● Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and other accounting principles and standards
● Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
● Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet deadlines
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others at all levels of the organization
● Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop a team
● Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial software applications.
● Fluent in English
