Responsibilities / Tasks


GEA is one of the largest technology suppliers for food processing and a wide range of other industries. The global group specializes in machinery, plants, as well as process technology and components.


For our Liquid & Powder Technologies Division, we are currently looking forSales Engineer to join our team inIzmir.


Liquid & Powder Technologies provide processing equipment and integrated solutions for the dairy, food, new food, beverage, chemical and home & personal care industries. The portfolio includes brewing systems, liquid processing, aseptic and non-aseptic filling & packaging, concentration, fermentation, crystallization, purification, drying, powder handling & packaging as well as systems for carbon capture and emission control. GEA designs, builds, configures and installs versatile and sustainable equipment and technologies, processing lines and complete plants.


  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to identify opportunities.


  • Proactively penetrate markets to generate new business.


  • Communicate customer requirements clearly within the company and coordinate sales efforts with other departments.


  • Identify, qualify, pursue, and capture sales leads.


  • Build trusting relationships based on expertise, integrity, and friendliness.


  • Collaborate with GEA European Centers of Competence & process engineers for technical guidance when necessary.


  • Deliver persuasive formal proposal presentations.


  • Participate in trade shows as assigned.


  • Negotiate secrecy agreements and terms & conditions of sales in collaboration with management.


  • Issue order confirmations and participate in turnover meetings with project management, product managers, process engineers, purchasing, and administrative staff.


  • Report on sales activities, proposal status, and forecasts.


  • Coordinate customer visits, technical solutions, and pricing with the Service organization to ensure a unified customer approach.


  • Recommend and support laboratory and/or pilot tests.


Your Profile / Qualifications


  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to convey complex solutions clearly


  • Hold a degree in food, mechanical, chemical or process engineering


  • Have experience with technical project sales and long sales processes


  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.


  • Ability to understand and communicate technical data and complex engineering systems effectively


  • Understanding of legal documents such as secrecy agreements and terms & conditions for sales of process equipment.


  • Proficiency in MS Office products and general computer skills.


  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working well in a team setting and independently.


  • Willingness to travel as required for sales assignments and industry functions.
