Our regional Research and Development (R&D) organization is now looking for a new R&D Chemist within Powder department. As a chemist you will develop and maintain products, in consultation with the Manager, by preparing, testing and evaluating the paint/binder/raw materials contributing to the achievement of the goals in our R&D plan. Positions will be located in Çerkezköy, Turkey and below you can read more about the position. In 2016 our Regional Jotun R&D Center were opened in Çerkezköy as one out of 7 regional labs that collaborate and work together to support Jotun’s Global need for products. Jotun R&D are organized according to the four segments (decorative, protective, marine and powder).
Powder Coatings department
Jotun Powder Coating promotes innovative products to meet increasing global demand for coatings solutions free of Volatile Organic Compounds. These products range from beautiful and durable coatings for buildings facades, high performance anti-corrosion coatings that provide long-lasting steel protection in any climate, coatings with wide range of colours, smooth , texture and metallic finishes for appliance and furniture, to game changing powder coatings for natural and engineered wood. The position requires not only knowledge of polymer and materials as well as processing and powder particles behaviors. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about science and chemistry keen to develop a better understanding of whole powder processes.
The tasks for this position is to develop new products , improve much better alignment to big scaled production for whole process. We are looking for a candidate with chemical or chemical engineering degree in organic, polymer or material chemistry and preferably prior experience in Powder coatings.

Responsibilities:
- Carry out development, technology and maintenance tasks through planning, formulating, testing and evaluating of recipes and raw materials to ensure that projects are effectuated within planned time and cost frames, and in accordance with Jotun’s business strategy
- Participate actively in the working out of tasks, coach colleagues as well as contributing professionally within own area both internally and externally to increase the quality of the R&D plan and competence in the professional environment.
- Report results from development, technology and maintenance work both orally and written through R&D and tertiary reports to ensure that the correct decisions, based on current experience, are made.
- Have recipe responsibility for products through maintenance and following up towards production and marketing, ensuring that the quality of the product satisfy current product demands.
- Search for, make use of and communicate knowledge to others through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses in order to be one step ahead of development.

The positionhas a more open requirement for education where experience within relevant field can be compensated for education, thus we invite both candidates that have BSc and or MSc degree to apply.
All candidates are expected to have good English skills – both spoken and written - and knowledge about the use of MS office 365 & Teams/SharePoint is an advantage.(Interviews will be held in English)
