SUMMARY OF THE ROLEOur regional Research and Development (R&D) organization is now looking for new R&D Chemist within Steel Protection and Speciality Department. As a chemist you will develop and maintain products, in consultation with the Manager, by preparing, testing and evaluating the paint/binder/raw materials contributing to the achievement of the goals in our R&D plan. Positions will be located in Çerkezköy, Turkey, and below you can read more about the positions. In 2016 our Regional Jotun R&D Center was established in Çerkezköy as one out of 7 regional labs that collaborate and work together to support Jotun’s Global need for products. Jotun R&D are organized according to the four segments (decorative, protective, marine and powder). Steel Protection and Speciality department When It Comes to Corrosion Protection, Steel Protection Anti-Corrosion and Speciality are the First Line of Defense. It is estimated that corrosion costs the society 2.5trillion dollars every year. Steel Protection and Specialty’s main mission is to combat corrosion and develop the best suited paints or paint systems, for the different corrosive environments and different surface preparations. Even though epoxy and Polyurethane is by far our most important technology, we are involved in a wide variety of chemistries. Innovate new/good enough anti-corrosive coatings, flooring products for the different environmental exposures in the ECA region according our R&D plan and local/regional requirements. The main technology being used is epoxy and Polyurethane, but other technologies like silicate, Polyaspartic, polysiloxane and polyesters are also being used. Maintain our existing products, for ECA region. It involves a great variety of tasks from helping production, TSS and marketing to providing technical advice, generate test reports and supporting our technical documentation to mention some examples. Work involves both single coat and full systems. INTERNAL ADVERT: If you don’t want all managers to know that you are applying, please send your application information to HR contact person in Turkey .Responsibilities:Carry out development, technology and maintenance tasks through planning, formulating, testing and evaluating of recipes and raw materials to ensure that projects are effectuated within planned time and cost frames, and in accordance with Jotun’s business strategyParticipate actively in the working out of tasks, coach colleagues as well as contributing professionally within own area both internally and externally to increase the quality of the R&D plan and competence in the professional environment.Report results from development, technology and maintenance work both orally and written through R&D and tertiary reports to ensure that the correct decisions, based on current experience, are made.Have recipe responsibility for products through maintenance and following up towards production and marketing, ensuring that the quality of the product satisfy current product demands.Search for, make use of and communicate knowledge to others through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses in order to be one step ahead of development.
