Position overview:
Optimas is currently searching for an energetic and driven Quality Manager with a passion for process optimization, compliance, operational excellence and a keen focus on total cost. You will be responsible for leading the quality team located in our warehouse in Tuzla, Istanbul. The ultimate objective is to deliver a highly responsive internal and external customer experience.
This role reports directly to the General Manager - Turkey.
Main responsibilities:
  • Drive the internal cross functional teams to meet and exceed requirements, through strict process compliance and future proofing.
  • Plan, manage and conduct internal quality system audits, while driving third party certification and customer audits.
  • Oversee root cause analysis, 8D, PPAP and other relevant documents with collaboration of the Quality Team and represent Optimas Quality at OEM quality meetings.
  • Develop, coach, and train a team of 4 employees and their daily activities.
  • Manage the returns process, and quarantine inventory and ensure timely actions are to ensure improvement.
  • Manage documentation of and compliance with QMS processes for areas of responsibility in alignment with international quality management standards.
  • Meet quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements, supporting preparation of the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and initiating corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create and manage reports to track internal and external KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) including Zero PPM, Zero Claim, and Ontime delivery performance objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) and improve service.
  • Develop and deploy systems, processes, and people to enable safe launch of new and changing products.
Warehouse and Support:
  • Host external Quality Management System audits and prospective customer visits of the warehouse facility and headquarters in Maltepe Office as required.
  • Work closely with New Business Development to onboard the new customers with Optimas Turkey systems.
Customer Quality Experience:
  • Develop a deep understanding of Automotive customer specific requirements (Ford Otosan, Türk Traktör) and ensure operational compliance.
  • Collaborate with customers and resident engineers to ensure appropriate responses to formal (8D) and informal quality requests are provided.
  • Support internal stakeholders to address and resolve concerns impacting on customer satisfaction and internal performance, and the process flows as needed.
Operational and Service Excellence:
  • Support consistent implementation, auditing, and evaluation of Optimas processes, procedures, forms, manuals, and tools.
  • Enhance department and organization growth with accomplishing tasks to improve performance and exploring opportunities to add value.
  • Maintain the balance between risk and cost to improve quality performance at an improved CoPQ
Skills and Qualifications required:
  • Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • A proven track record in quality management and process improvement within an automotive manufacturing environment, with knowledge of forging and coating preferred
  • Extensive experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly preferable, specifically automotive OEM
  • Ability to mentor and develop teams
  • Driven, self-starter and results-focused, passionate about meeting financial and operational performance objectives
  • Significant experience with problem solving tools (8D, 5 why, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone, Kaizen).
  • Experience with quality management systems (IATF16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 9001).
  • Experienced with safety and environmental management systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001)
  • Experienced in the use of Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, PPAP-PSW&PPA).
  • Proficient in business software including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Minitab, ERP.
  • Project management skills.
  • Product safety and conformity (PCSR) certification
  • ISO 9001 and IAFT 16949 internal audit certification
  • Driven, self-motivated and results-focused
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for work
