Job Description

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring high-quality sourcing of products and services, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. This role requires analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment to support our company's operations. The position will be located in Tuzla, Istanbul / Turkey.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Business Administration discipline
  • Professional credential in purchasing would be a plus
  • A strong knowledge of chemistry and chemical market background is preferred
  • Strong exposure in integrated financial systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Self-starter, mature, good communicator and has strong negotiation skills
  • Result-oriented, collaborative and has a can-do attitude
  • Good command of Turkish and English languages (both in written and spoken)
  • No obstacle to travel frequently within the country/region

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop effective and efficient procurement strategies for categories under management
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D organization and manufacturing operations to coordinate portfolio changes either for savings or innovation
  • Manage on-going supplier performance to meet or exceed all metrics regarding service, performance, quality, cost and sustainability 
  • Leading tenders and making the contracts, finalizing contract with complete documentation in accordance with procedures
  • Decide where to buy which goods or services and under which conditions
  • Cooperation with local, regional and global stakeholders to assure a smooth and compliant operation
  • Provide seamless supplier management and compliance support
  • Responsible for KPIs and objectives with cost savings, cost avoidance and value added projects
  • Develop and continually improve procurement policies, monitor and continually improve procurement processes and practices
  • Collaborate with relevant business units and functional teams for the greatest level of synergy, such as quality, inventory, cash flow, speed to market
