Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)


We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and support the installation and commissioning of solar power projects at international locations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical aspects of solar system installations, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance requirements. Depending on the project, presence at a different location may be necessary.


  • Manage the on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems and associated mechanical components
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to installation crews to ensure proper assembly, alignment, and integration of tracker structures, drives, and control systems
  • Analyze site conditions, terrain, and environmental factors to optimize the mechanical design and installation of the solar tracking systems
  • Collaborate with the project management team to develop installation plans, schedules, and quality control procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during the construction and commissioning phases
  • Conduct performance testing and inspections to verify the functionality and safety of the installed tracker systems
  • Document all installation activities, test results, and as-built conditions in detailed reports
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to the local operations and maintenance teams
  • Travel to international project sites as needed to oversee and support the mechanical installation work
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • 5-7 years of experience working on solar power or renewable energy projects, with a focus on mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of solar resource assessment, energy modeling, and performance optimization
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design, installation, and commissioning of single-axis or dual-axis solar tracking systems
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with construction management, project scheduling, and quality control processes
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve technical challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Proficiency in additional languages is an asset
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work on-site for extended periods
