We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Designer who will be able to demonstrate knowledge in Hitachi Energy in Power Grids, Transformer Components and Service in Tuzla location in Istanbul. You will work as part of our Transformer Components products team, which engineers’ solutions, and products such as measurement and protection devices, transformer bushings, and de-energized tap-changers.


Your responsibilities


  • Analytical capacity for problem-solving, product design and product application.
  • Competence to work with marketing and engineering staff to understand solutions to meet customer needs. Find creative/innovative ways to tailor complex solutions to business and customer needs. Create and execute design of engineering solutions, include the preparation of drawings, calculations, bill of materials, engineering instructions and processes. Apply state-of-the-art design methods, tools and engineering practices to design development.
  • Ensure quality deliverables on time and within estimated cost.
  • Ability to develop and implement cost-out projects. Interact with our Engineering Centers and Technology Centers in new developments and R&D Projects.
  • Experience in manufacturing techniques, configuration, and technology theory of mechanical and structural components. Understanding manufacturing techniques used to manufacture the components used in current transformer components, including but not limited to metal casting (sand, permanent, and die), plastics thermoset and epoxy (poured, injected, cast), plastics injection molded, metal forming (cast, drawn, forged), porcelain (extruded or thrown).
  • Deep understanding of materials to include but not limited to steel, aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, plastics, and epoxies.
  • Experienced with the use of PTC products to include Creo 4.0, Windchill, and mechanical simulations and proficient in mechanical design and drafting principles.
  • Share technical knowledge with colleagues via various channels, including forums, training, and coaching.

Your background


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics engineering.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in working in industrial product design.
  • Work experience with Creo 3D CAD modelling software, is highly desired.
  • Work experience with Windchill data management, is highly desired.
  • Work experience with SAP ERP program, is highly desired.
  • Initiative, creativity, and great attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind with strong planning and self-learning skills, teamwork & result oriented.
  • Very good communication skills in English and Turkish in oral and written form.
  • Preferably some experience with developing electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience on Microsoft Office tools.
  • Be eligible to Work in Multinational and Diversity. Working experience in multinational companies is preferred.
  • Completed military service for male applicants.
  • Available for international travels.
