Job Description
We are a multinational chemical company with a complex portfolio and distribution set up in Turkey. We are looking for a "Logistics Engineer" who will work as a part of our Supply Chain Organization in Gebze Factory.
Qualifications:
- University degree preferably from an Engineering Department
- Minimum 2 years experience in logistic preferred
- SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent command of MS Office Tools
- Excellent ability of both written and spoken English
- Self motivated and a good team player
- Strong analytical & good communication skills
Logistics Engineer will be responsible for:
- Collect and analyze data related to inbound & outbound transportation
- Both Production and 3PL warehousing, and territorial distribution activities to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks
- Analyze and evaluate existing logistics processes to identify areas for improvement
- Design and implementation of performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of logistics vendors
- Assist in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to streamline logistics operations and reduce costs
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics and transportation where supporting to prepare vendor contracts
- Develop and implement cost-effective transportation solutions, including route optimization and carrier selection
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation partners to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Utilize software tools and technologies to track shipments, monitor inventory levels, and 3PL warehouse management operations
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, planning ,QA, procurement, operations, and customer service, to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management
