We are looking for a Financial Control and Reporting Supervisor to join our team in İstanbul, Türkiye. In this role, you will play a crucial role in evaluating financial data and contributing to informed decision-making processes to support our company's growth and financial stability.
Your Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting according to IFRS standards, tailored to the complexities of the freight industry, including revenue recognition and cost allocation specific to freight operations
- Develop cost control mechanisms and financial models to analyze freight expenses, revenue streams, and profitability. Translate financial data into actionable insights to support local and international financial strategies, optimizing cost management and operational efficiency
- Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting and forecasting for freight operations. Ensure alignment with operational goals, taking into account fluctuations in fuel costs, freight rates, and regulatory changes impacting the industry
- Collaborate with logistics, operations, and procurement teams to ensure that financial reporting meets the operational demands of freight management, including tracking performance metrics and addressing cost control issues
- Maintain an accurate Fixed Asset Register for freight related assets, such as vehicles and equipment, and manage cash flow to support operational needs, including timely payments to suppliers and managing receivables from clients.
- Perform detailed analysis on freight costs and revenues, and support financial planning, contributing to the broader strategic goals of our freight operations
Your Profile:
- University degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles, within the freight industry; CPA qualification highly desirable.
- Proficiency in IFRS and reporting standards
- Solid experience in working cross-functionally in freight, logistics, or transportation industries
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate the global nature of freight operations
- Strong understanding of consolidation processes
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Turkish
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of an organization
- The process-oriented mindset with a proactive approach
- No military obligation for male candidates
- Willingness to work in İstanbul/Sarıyer
- Experience with Oracle Fusion would be considered an advantage.
