The Position

Disease Area Lead is an empowered leader responsible for the respective DA business in Roche Turkiye, leveraging the global Roche network as an active catalyst. In this role, you will report to the Leadership Team Member responsible for all disease areas and develop a clear business strategy for identifying, leveraging, scaling, adapting, and executing the business by providing launch and commercial excellence for the DA portfolio. DA experience is required for this role.


Key Responsibilities


Establish strategic direction and lead the execution of the Strategy


  • Responsible for setting the DA vision, high ambitions, and outcomes for the squad by harnessing insights from Primary Point of Contacts (PPOCs) and other key stakeholders across the enterprise. Holding overall accountability for delivering market leadership and the P&L, whilst working in the context of shared responsibility.


  • Responsible for developing effective strategies to manage the lifecycle and the financial and resource planning for the products.


  • Promote innovation and the development of projects and pull in resources from the broader Roche network to deliver value-added solutions.


  • Maximize opportunities and synergize across other disease areas and establish a strong collaboration within the affiliate and cross affiliates within Pharma International.


  • Closely collaborate with stakeholders and customer-facing teams to translate disease area needs into clear execution.


  • Ensure Cross-Functional Leadership by inspiring teams to meet ambitious outcomes, fostering an environment where cross-functional teams can collaborate, develop, and achieve outcomes


  • Manage DA Members by embracing the role of recruiter, coach, and retainer of talent & performance, sharing the responsibility with leaders in other disciplines.  


  • Ensure the right resource prioritization, with an enterprise mindset, taking into account the affiliate strategy and portfolio priorities. Within this context, effectively prioritize DA outcomes and ensure resource requirements are met to deliver outcomes


  • In collaboration with the PPOCs, ensure that key stakeholders are well-supported and view us as their preferred partner. Mobilize the network with speed when necessary to meet the urgent needs of these key stakeholders.

  • Act as a People Manager of Patient Journey Partners (PJP) and you are a thought partner for all DA members and others in the DA to bring perspective as a matrix lead. The role embraces the performance dynamics of all members.


  • Have a very strong Entrepreneurial Mindset (We before Me) with outstanding partnering & leadership capabilities (coaching, consulting, ability to deeply listen, question, and understand).


  • A catalyst and mobilize appropriate resources around common goals/outcomes to generate valuable ecosystem solutions. You build and maintain open and transparent relationships with internal/external stakeholders and the wider network.


  • Act fully in compliance with Competition Law and Roche Code Of Conduct and all applicable SOPs in carrying out all duties; in this regard, it is of utmost importance to avoid prohibited practices which include (but are not limited to) refraining from intervening in the resale pricing practices of resellers, providing or requesting side offers and not directly or indirectly exchanging strategically sensitive business information of competitor undertakings.


  • Take necessary precautions for adherence to legislative requirements, pharma legislations, Laws on the Protection of Personal Data, industry code requirements on promotion and ethics, and other applicable laws and regulations (i.e. public tender law, interactions with government officials, etc.)


Who You Are


  • You have significant experience in diverse areas of pharma business management including sales & marketing management as a people leader in the Pharmaceutical sector. 


  • You have a proven track record of impacting patients by creating efficient strategies and mobilizing people. 


  • You are highly customer-oriented and have networking skills & a catalyzing approach.


  • You have effective, agile, fit-for-purpose leadership skills and have experience leading cross-functional teams.


  • You can inspire and influence others that generate enthusiasm and commitment, challenge the status quo, and think creatively to provide solutions.


  • You have a practical understanding of digital innovation methodologies.


  • You are fluent in Turkish & English.
