Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- To formulate and implement sales strategies for maximizing revenues.
- To assist in managing the budget of the Sales Division, monitor and control the expenses and ensure that there is no substantial overrun of costs.
- To direct the Sales team and ensure they meet the targets set in the annual budget and sales and marketing plan.
- To attend all major local and overseas trade shows, hotel and tourist association meetings to identify market opportunities for the hotel.
- To plan and where appropriate, execute sales trips to key existing market areas and identify new potential market areas.
- To meet and entertain all influential clients and ensure there is follow-up on all discussed details.
- To organize and accompany familiarization site inspection trips of the hotel by major clients.
- To direct the Sales Management Team in identifying market opportunities for increasing the revenue produced by group meetings, functions etc.
- To work closely with Finance in reviewing financial performance regularly.
- To work closely with Revenue Management team in formulating and implementing intelligent room rate strategies for different market segments.
- To work closely with Reservations team in driving upselling through telephone calls and delivering high level of customer service to call-in guests.
- To work hand-in hand with Public Relations and Marketing Communications team in formulating and implementing strategies for publicizing the hotel in local and international markets through various media and through marketing partnerships.
- To establish and maintain effective colleague and working relations both within the department and with other departments.
- To provide advice and support to the Food & Beverage and Spa Department in promoting the facilities in increasing revenue.
- To provide advice to the Executive Committee team and decisions and projects relating to the entire hotel.
- To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Director of Sales and Marketing or General Manager.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in the luxury hotel industry; international experience preferred.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Turkish.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to develop and motivate his/her team.
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality.
- Possess high degree of stamina, agility, and flexibility.
