Commercial Bank Head - Turkey

Job Purpose:
Manage and drive growth of the CCB business in Turkey, a key business unit for Citi. This Director role entails responsibility for developing and executing the business strategy for CCB in the country with responsibility for the client P&L in order to ensure sustainable and predictable earnings and excellent client experience. All of this must be achieved within a sound control environment in which the business operates.
Head of CCB in Turkey is a key role and works closely with the wider CCB teams within MEA. The role is a trusted partner within the local management team and supports the Chief Country Officer (CCO) of Turkey. This is a Senior Manager role as per Turkey Assistant General Manager Policy and hence is subject to regulatory approvals and is governed by Turkish Banking Law and adjacent regulations. The role reports to CCO and MEA (ex UAE) Head of CCB.
Job Background / Context:
Citi Commercial Banking targets mid-sized corporate segment focused on a variety of growth industries with international banking needs. This includes the growing Digital segment focused on disruptor companies in the tech space like E-Commerce, Software, FinTechs, etc.
A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. A key element of this position is to work in close partnership with product groups, operations, and risk management at all levels (country, regional and global) to continue to grow the CCB business in Turkey.

It also requires strong people management skills across diverse teams where managerial and leadership skills can be developed. The role requires P&L management, which means that CCB Turkey Head will gain experience in managing revenue growth, optimizing processes and infrastructure, whilst growing a healthy credit portfolio. Several interactions with Senior Risk partners create an opportunity to learn about more complex risk issues, new policies, and market trends. Develop a strong global network in order to utilize Citi’s full product offerings for clients.
