Role:
The Chief Commercial Officer (“CCO”) drives the development and execution of a commercialization strategy in line with the business plan. The CCO builds a commercialization infrastructure and organization to drive market adoption of the company’s products and be responsible for business, revenue, and market share growth. The CCO takes a global perspective on market opportunities and leads and prioritizes a commercial action plan, ensuring that all organization functions are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Business Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive export and import sales strategies to drive steady market growth and profitability.
- Build annual budgets for products and services, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholders' expectations.
- Identify global market opportunities, prioritize actions, and align all organizational functions to achieve strategic commercial objectives.
- Leverage technology and data analytics to identify business trends, measure commercial activities, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Actively monitor key performance indicators, reporting critical insights to executive leadership regarding market trends, opportunities, and challenges.
- Lead specific commercial campaigns or initiatives when required.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, operational excellence, and cost optimization.
- Team Management
- Develop and steer the sales network, aligning commercial initiatives with corporate objectives.
- Set measurable performance targets for direct reports (e.g., commercial managers) and ensure cascading alignment across all organizational layers.
- Monitor performance, provide regular and constructive feedback, and take corrective actions when necessary to achieve results.
- Coach, train, and mentor commercial managers to ensure leadership excellence and prepare them for future roles.
- Collaborate with HR to design and implement career development pathways, including succession planning.
- Promote training initiatives on current and emerging skills such as consultative selling, e-commerce tools, integrated logistics, and supply chain strategies
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key customers at senior levels to enhance loyalty and business opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and seminars to increase brand visibility and explore growth opportunities.
- Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customers to resolve challenges and deliver exceptional value.
- Foster collaboration with internal teams (Finance, Logistics, Operations, Procurement, HR, and Marketing) to align objectives and streamline processes.
- Ensure all activities align with the company’s policies, values, and ethical standards
- Group Synergy
- Lead initiatives to identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities within the group’s portfolio.
- Collaborate with other group entities (e.g., CEVA Logistics, regional subsidiaries) to offer integrated and innovative commercial solutions for clients.
- Drive joint initiatives to enhance value-added services, increase customer satisfaction, and create new revenue streams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related fields.
- Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the shipping or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant software tools.
- Good command of English, both verbal and written.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Ability to develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- In-depth understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
