Job Description

They have been implementing large investment projects for more than 40 years in such sectors as transport infrastructure, energy, water supply and renewable energy, civil and industrial construction.


We are excited to announce a newly created position for a Business Development Director. This strategic role will play a critical part in driving the growth and diversification of our client’s operations in the maritime, aviation, and land transportation sectors. As the pioneer in this role, you will have the unique opportunity to establish your own team and shape the future of our clients business development efforts.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Spearhead business development initiatives for both new projects and existing operations in the maritime, aviation, and land transportation sectors.


  • Oversee tender processes for new projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market demands.


  • Build and lead a team of 3-4 professionals, fostering collaboration and efficiency in project execution.


  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and private-sector partners, across international and emerging markets.


  • Analyze market trends to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, with a focus on expanding into emerging markets in Africa, the Gulf countries (Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia), East Asia, and the Turkic republics.


  • Represent the company at high-profile industry events, conferences, and forums globally.



  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field is essential.


  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in business development within the transportation sector, with expertise in maritime, aviation, and land-based infrastructure.


  • Demonstrated leadership in managing projects and teams, particularly in international and emerging markets such as Africa, the Gulf countries, East Asia, and the Turkic republics.


  • Deep understanding of project operations, tender processes, and asset acquisition strategies.


  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and manage diverse stakeholders.


  • Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are an advantage.


  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
