We are seeking a highly skilled Balance of Plant (BOP) Engineer with experience in power generation systems, specifically with LM6000, TM2500, and LM2500 gas turbine units. The BOP Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of all auxiliary systems that support power plant functionality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, plant commissioning, and troubleshooting power plant equipment

Location: This job is located on-site at a customer location.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee all auxiliary systems, including pumps, heat exchangers, air compressors, fuel handling, water treatment, Gas Skid, Fire Fighting and cooling systems.
  • Provide technical expertise for LM6000, TM2500, and LM2500 units, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Ensure proper integration of BOP systems with power generation units, including electrical, mechanical, and control system interfaces.
  • Perform and oversee predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on BOP equipment, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Analyze plant data, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance plant performance and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure all BOP operations adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration and adherence to HSE guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation related to plant operations, maintenance, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in power generation, with hands-on expertise in LM6000, TM2500, and LM2500 gas turbine units.
  • Strong understanding of power plant systems, including electrical distribution, fuel supply, cooling, and auxiliary systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting BOP equipment and turbine support systems.
  • Experience with SCADA, DCS, and PLC-based control systems.
  • OSHA, NFPA, or relevant power plant safety training or Certifications.
  • Manufacturer-specific training on LM6000, TM2500, or LM2500 units certifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Knowledge.
  • HSE General Basic Knowledge. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 (a plus).
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
