Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:


The candidate for this role will work with our product development, segment innovation and commercial teams to proactively lead the technical product development activities  for our fast-growing hardware related product lines. The selected candidate for the role will:


  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product line managers and suppliers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for hardware solutions


  • Design and develop complex hardware systems, including embedded systems, industrial automation equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.  This includes defining product specifications, overseeing the design process, and ensuring that the product meets quality standards and regulatory requirements


  • Integrate hardware components with software systems to create end-to-end solutions


  • Perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging to ensure product quality and reliability


  • Develop and maintain hardware documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and test plans


  • Develop ecosystem partners and strategic partnerships with hardware solutions providers and system integrators (such as manufacturing 4.0, AI, and robotics)


  • Vendor management and be the main point of contact from Avery Dennison


  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure smooth production processes, quality control, and timely delivery of hardware products. This involves managing production schedules, addressing manufacturing challenges, and ensuring that their product is manufactured according to our specifications and requirements


  • Oversee the suppliers for their testing and certification processes to ensure that the hardware product meets safety, performance, and regulatory standards


  • Facilitate communication and collaboration in a team of technical professionals including engineers, developers, and testers such as guidance, support and mentorship to help the team to achieve its goals and deliver high-quality work


  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging team members to take ownership and strive for excellence in their work



Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE TEAM: 


Avery Dennison has a long history of being a market leader.  Your history is important to us. It should include the following:


  • University degree in in business, engineering or a related field with 5 years of solid experience in Factory Solutions development with good understanding of hardware and automation systems including IoT, Data processing, system integrators preferably in the garment manufacturing industry


  • Experience in developing and executing product strategies and roadmaps; proven track record in defining, launching, evolving and sustaining products preferred


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage internal and external stakeholders


  • Solid experience in driving critical development projects from the concepts to launch


  • Have an eye for detail and working in an organized fashion, maintaining product and project progress records


  • Willing to travel around 10% of the time


  • Excellent written and spoken English
