About the role:
The Assistant Night Manager is the Manager on Duty and responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit and hotel safety/security. This role is part of the Front Office, reporting into the Front Desk/Office Manager.
What you will do:
Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
Maintain a professional and high-quality service oriented environment at all times
Act as manager on duty for the hotel overnight shift dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise
Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments
Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
Handle any emergencies or incidents that arise during the night shift.
Maintain accurate records of all incidents and communicate any issues to the appropriate parties.
Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
What you bring:
Two + years’ experience working within a luxury hotel or similar environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
Cross cultural sensitivity, and customer service orientation
Guest centricity and understanding the importance of guest’s preferences.
An operational knowledge and proficiency in Front Office Systems and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
