Supply chain Specialist Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Supply Chain Specialist

About the job



The Supply Chain Specialist's main objective is to provide support in the supply chain department in efficient and effective logistics implementation and the smooth running of departmental operations of the ALT offices. This includes assisting with procurement, warehouse, assets, general equipment, and fleet management, ensuring that all logistics operations are managed and maintained efficiently as per DRC’s internal and donor procedures & as per the Operations Handbook.
The role emphasizes supporting logistics/procurement staff and functions, including implementing DRC Dynamics, and contributing to strengthening the overall supply chain functions. The position also ensures the implementation of audit recommendations related to logistics and procurement.
Additionally, the Supply Chain Specialist will handle the technical supervision of SS officers and SS assistants, if necessary, act as the focal point for the supply chain in the absence of the Supply Chain Manager (SCM), and lead on office administration tasks such as maintenance, procurement of supplies, and gardening.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Procurement Coordination



Assist the Supply Chain Manager (SCM) in ensuring all procurement fully complies with the DRC Operations Handbook and donor requirements.
Draft national ITB documentation before advertising or inviting suppliers in coordination with SCM and requesters. Support the SCM in ITB management, including preparing TOC reports, conducting technical analyses, and facilitating contract awards.
Assist in establishing purchasing agreements for key program items and routine administrative procurement. Organize procurement training for program staff and refresher training for procurement teams.
Conduct field visits to ensure the implementation of audit recommendations related to procurement and logistics.

Fleet Management



Assist the SCM with compliance and implementation of the Operations Handbook for fleet management. Support the Logistics Officer in coordinating with programs to perform fleet rightsizing exercises.
Ensure effective fleet management practices, including oversight of service contract vehicles for all country offices.

Asset Management



Collaborate with the SCM and IT Specialist to ensure compliance with the Operations Handbook for asset management.
Support field and country-level supply chain teams in comprehensive reports on inventory and assets by:
Ensure the Tagging of all assets with ERP identification numbers and update the Dynamics ERP system with complete asset details.
Verify procurement records to ensure newly acquired assets are accurately registered.
Conduct quarterly physical inventory checks, reconciling results with Dynamics records.
Investigate and report discrepancies, missing, or damaged assets to the Supply Chain Manager.
Assign assets to staff or projects as per approved requests, maintaining proper documentation.
Prepare disposal plans for obsolete or damaged assets following DRC policies, ensuring updated records in Dynamics.
Ensure all asset records are audit-ready and align with organizational and donor requirements.
Submit regular reports on asset activities, including acquisitions, disposals, and compliance updates.

DRC Dynamics ERP System



Ensure proper application of DRC Dynamics processes, particularly in Procurement (P2P) and Asset Management.
Utilize reports and data analytics from the ERP system to identify areas for improvement in supply chain performance.
Provide training and support to field offices on Dynamics-related supply chain functions.

About you



To be successful in this role, we expect you to have a Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian logistics management in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Fleet Management, Asset Management, and Distribution Support.
Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required



Knowledge and experience in dealing with service providers and contractors’ management
Proven management and supervision skills, team player, and committed to accountability practices.
Excellent computer skills in MS Word & Excel, as well as experience working with an ERP system
Experience with standard procurement procedures and documentation.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Master’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business administration or related field
Fluent in both oral and written Arabic, English and French
