SUMMARY

Ddevelop, implement and be accountable for short to medium term product management, marketing and operational plans for allocated products to meet agreed profit, revenue and market share objectives in the short and medium term.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop annual product marketing / operational plan outlining key activities and marketing programs and implement approved strategies within agreed budgets.
  • Recommend 1–3 year strategic options for the product through the planning process.
  • Ensure plans / strategies accommodate the changes taking place in the market and respond to customer needs.
  • Produce short to medium term market share / growth grids for individual products.
  • Implement the tactical plan in line with corporate strategic product objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key customers to support current and future objectives.
  • Monitor the product’s perceived functional performance and take appropriate action.             
  • Communicate effectively within the organisation to ensure the alignment of sales force and other key stakeholders.
  • Be the recognised 'Product Champion' by developing and continuously updating knowledge of therapy, product and market.
  • Be responsible for developing / adapting promotional material for the local market.
  • Work with MEA Marketing Manager & Head to ensure appropriate communication, alignment and extensive utilisation of available resources and expertise.
  • Produce sales / production / patients forecasts and monitor progress on monthly & quarterly base.
  • Monitor and take corrective action for major deviations on plans, strategies, budget management and efficient use of resources.
  • Effectively segment key markets and recommend positioning tactics.
  • Implement strategies to maximise pricing and product mix opportunities.
  • Encourage cross-functional input to the planning process.
  • Conduct relevant market research for the product / therapy area and the market / customer base.
  • Build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.   
  • Conduct product & clinical trainings for local & distributor teams.
  • Work closely with all internal stakeholders (like sales management team, medical affairs, finance...).
  • Set up short term tactical action plans for the field force (defining promotional messages, what promotional material to use, number of visits ...).            
JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation
  • Bachelor’s degree with medical background - Masters degree preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years in Product Management and Marketing.

Market Knowledge and Understanding:


  • Have an advanced understanding of customer needs i.e. proactively uncovers unmet needs.
  • Have an advanced understanding of market research methodology and their benefits and costs including primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative research, internal data sources and their applications.
  • Able to apply knowledge and understanding of the political and country respective health system / service environment to the operational plan.
  • Able to apply health economics data for own brand in marketing mix and create appropriate models to drive outcomes.

Planning, Analysis and Strategic Marketing:


  • Have a full understanding of strategic, operational and quarterly planning process.
  • Able to develop medium term strategic and short term operational plans.
  • Monitor progress of the plan’s implementation and proposes corrective actions.
  • Have a full understanding of patient modelling, able to understand, validate and manipulate assumptions.
  • Develop robust sales forecast with appropriate levels of detail for operational / strategic planning.
  • Develop investment, sales and ROI scenarios for individual products.

Operational Marketing:


  • Able to select the most appropriate marketing mix & promotional resource.

Able to assess and challenge appropriateness of concepts based on strategic needs and suggest alternatives.


  • Use multiple channels to reinforce the brand / message consistency.
  • Understand industry developments taking country specific regulations into consideration and maximises communications accordingly.
  • Able to construct effective agency briefing documents in line with brand plans.
  • Able to manage changing priorities, which influence tactical activities and ensure the overall operational plan is achieved within budget
