Position Overview
We are looking for an EHS Manager to act as a strategic business partner in operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and sustainability policies. The role involves driving initiatives to improve workplace safety, reduce environmental impact, and maintain regulatory compliance while fostering a strong EHS culture across the organization.
Main Missions :
- Define and implement health, safety, environmental, and sustainability policies.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory EHS requirements.
- Maintain ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certifications.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure timely reporting.
- Lead and deploy corporate EHS initiatives (ACT Now, Hand Safety, etc.).
- Conduct safety assessments and risk evaluations in collaboration with department heads.
- Develop and oversee prevention programs to reduce accidents and associated costs.
- Organize EHS awareness campaigns and employee training.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and compliance of hazardous materials.
- Continuous Improvement & Sustainability
- Drive ergonomics initiatives to prevent injuries and enhance efficiency.
- Lead sustainability efforts, including energy and waste management initiatives.
- Track and report utility consumption (electricity, water, fuel) and waste generation.
- Collaborate with ESG teams to achieve corporate sustainability targets.
- Investigate accidents and oversee corrective actions.
- Ensure emergency management procedures are in place and up to date.
- Supervise maintenance of firefighting equipment and emergency response teams.
- Budget & Performance Management
- Manage the annual EHS budget (expenses & CAPEX).
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through the EHS Operational Improvement Plan (OIP).
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety and compliance.
- Oversee EHS compliance for contractors.
- Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure the timely closure of legal and regulatory actions.
To be successful for this role :
- Bac +4/5 in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years in an EHS in the manufacturing industry
- Leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of ISO14001 & ISO 45001,IATF 16949
- Good knowledge of in Office tools (Excel)
- Strong organizational skills
- Good analytical vision.
Language Skills:
- Good communication skills in both French and English is required
