About the job



Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a highly qualified Private Sector Engagement Specialist to join the program team in Tunisia.
The Private Sector and Partnership Engagement Specialist will play a key role in fostering collaborations between the DAPP project, the private sector actors, international organizations, research institutes and think tanks working on youth opportunities and job creation in Tunisia. The specialist will be responsible for identifying, mapping, meeting and developing strategic partnerships that align with the project’s objectives, particularly in youth employment, economic empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

Private Sector Engagement & Partnership Development



In coordination with the ECREC Manager and the HOP, identify and create a comprehensive mapping, and engage with private sector companies, business associations, think tanks, research institutes, international organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
Develop and implement strategies for establishing partnerships that support and strengthen project objectives, including job creation, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.
Facilitate linkages between private sector entities and DRC beneficiaries, ensuring alignment with labour market needs.
Explore and promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that align with the DAPP program.
Organize roundtables, networking events, and meetings to strengthen public-private dialogue.
Identify entry points for collaborations, MoUs and new programming avenues and extensions of the DAPP

Project Implementation & Coordination



Work closely with the Economic Recovery Manager and project teams to integrate private sector engagement into broader program activities.
Support the design and rollout of initiatives that leverage private sector expertise and resources.
Ensure the smooth execution of private sector collaboration activities within allocated budgets and timelines.

Market Analysis & Business Development



Conduct market assessments to identify economic sectors with high potential for employment and entrepreneurship.
Analyze private sector trends, challenges, and opportunities relevant to the project.
Provide insights on how to adapt project interventions based on private sector needs and market dynamics.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting



Track and report on private sector engagement activities, documenting best practices and lessons learned.
Develop reports, presentations, and case studies showcasing successful collaborations.
Contribute to donor reporting by providing data and narratives on private sector engagement impact.

Stakeholder & Partner Management



Maintain strong relationships with implementing partners, local businesses, chambers of commerce, and other key economic players.
Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for partners to enhance their engagement with DRC-supported initiatives.
Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

About you



To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Minimum of 3 years of experience in private sector engagement, business development, or a similar field.
Moreover, we also expect the following:

Minimum 3 years of experience in private sector engagement, business development, or a similar field.
Experience in partnership management and working with private sector actors.
Strong knowledge of economic recovery, youth employment, entrepreneurship, and market systems.
Ability to conduct market research and analyze labour market trends.
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, networking, and negotiation.
Strong skills in budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French, and Arabic.

Desirable



Experience in project coordination and implementation within an NGO or development context is an asset.

Designation of Duty Station: Tunis, with travel (30%) across Tunisia to meet potential partners
Start date: 01 Apr 2025
